RecordMaikers is a transcript proofreading platform built specifically for court reporters. It checks the complete record, can use the full audio for deeper verification, and gives you a simple page-and-line review before any correction becomes final.
Is it better than using a human proofreader?+
RecordMaikers can be more consistent and more exhaustive than one traditional human-only pass. It reviews every page with the same attention, compares names and terminology across the complete transcript, and can cross-check the full audio without fatigue. The reporter still makes every final decision.
How long does proofing take?+
Most transcripts are ready for review in 10 minutes or less. Very long transcripts, lengthy audio, or unusually heavy system demand can take longer, and progress remains visible in your workspace.
What transcript files can I upload?+
RecordMaikers supports the common transcript formats court reporters already use, including TXT, ASCII, RTF, CRE, word-processing exports, PDFs, and transcript packages with audio.
How does audio-assisted proofing work?+
When audio is supplied, RecordMaikers privately transcribes and aligns the full recording to the transcript. It uses that additional evidence to help identify wrong words, names, omissions, and unclear passages, then shows the relevant support during review.
Does RecordMaikers rewrite testimony?+
No. The platform is designed to preserve the spoken record. It flags likely transcription, punctuation, capitalization, terminology, cue, and consistency issues without polishing testimony into different language.
Does the platform automatically make corrections?+
No. Every proposed correction remains under reporter control. You can keep the original, accept the suggestion, or choose the appropriate wording when an issue has more than one possible answer.
Does RecordMaikers change my original file?+
No. The original upload remains preserved and separate. Approved corrections are applied to a copy that you can download in the working format used by your normal transcript workflow.
How much does it cost?+
Standard transcript proofing is $0.30 per page. Audio-assisted processing is included in the exact quote shown before the job begins. There is no monthly subscription required.
Can Help chat read my transcript or audio?+
No. Help chat is isolated from uploaded transcript text, audio, findings, storage paths, and private file links. Do not paste transcript content into support conversations.
How long are completed jobs kept?+
You choose a retention period from 1 through 90 days. Completed transcript and audio files are automatically removed according to that setting, and you can permanently delete eligible jobs sooner.
